  4. The USA can build an auto racing course and a gigantic spherical theater, but we cannot build a high-speed rail system nor even good public transportation in most cities.

  5.  @michaelbuschow5244  Chicken and egg problem. High speed rails don't make much money because most people still use cars, but if most people stopped using cars, high speed rail would make money. I lived in a country in Europe for 2 years. It was so nice and cheap not having a car there. I am trying to get back there permanently, but immigration is difficult.
