Many years ago, Microsoft created a de facto standard for web browsing where many websites would only open properly in Internet Explorer, especially version 6. Microsoft created their ActiveX technology, which allowed websites to download small programs which mostly only ran on Windows. Websites coded with ActiveX controls typically did not run on other OSes, like Linux, at all or on other browsers like Firefox without plugins. This seems like Google repeating Microsoft's prior bad behavior, this time trying to lock users into running only the Chrome browser on OSes approved by Google.

@complexity5545 The first computer I used was an Apple II in elementary school. My first home computer was a Commodore 64 in junior high school. I loved that computer. So yes, I remember all of that.
