I lived in Europe for two years. They did not have quite the nearly unrestricted free speech laws nor the unlimited access to guns that we have here in the states. I never felt afraid for saying anything that could get me arrested. I even made a few jokes about their king. One evening I had been out walking in the downtown area there. About fifteen minutes later, a crazy man attacked two teenagers with a weapon right where I had been. I saw it on the local news there. Both of those teenagers survived. Their attacker was quickly subdued and arrested by the police. He used a knife, not a gun.
