  1. Piers Morgan was appointed by Rupert Murdoch as editor of "News of the World" in 1994. Morgan left that job in 1995 after he published photos of Diana's sister-in-law leaving an addiction clinic. He resigned as editor of the "Daily Mirror" in 2004 after he published fake photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners. The "Daily Mirror" admitted in 2014 that it had used phone hacking for several of its stories, most of which were published while Piers Morgan had been editor.
