  1. In the City dealers wouldn't tolerate such meltdowns, because literally every second a system is down they are hemorrhaging money. That's why they only employ the best. I was paid very handsomely for my services as a freelancer in the City, putting me in the top 1% of earners. But you know what? Employing people like me actually saved heaps of money. My best memory was when the Stock Exchange moved to using X25. My company used me to design and make the changes, others were foolish enough to use the software house that had written the system, and employed cheap people. On the day of the switch to X25 our system performed flawlessly. The systems altered by the software house crashed spectacularly!
