  1. "possibly a little inflated" Try obscenely inflated! In my day, over 40 years ago, one could be proud of ones A-level grades. There was no A* nonsense because a grade A really meant something. Even without what happened for the last couple of years grades have been seriously inflated. I'll let Gilbert & Sullivan explain why this is such a bad thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie4OwwmFj8o As a tutor of A-level maths, further maths, chemistry and physics, I can also tell you, without the slightest doubt, that far too many students aren't prepared to put in anywhere near the effort need to get a good (albeit inflated) grade.
