  1. Before those in their 20s start queuing up to be vaccinated they need to consider the relative risks: something Hancock really doesn't want them to do. The risk posed by covid-19 to almost all in this age group is damn near zero, whereas we know that all the vaccines carry a small risk. It may well be the case that the vaccine carries a greater risk than the disease, in which case any ethical doctor would strongly advise against having it. For the Pfizer vaccine we cannot completely rule out a possible nightmare scenario which I'll explain below. With the Pfizer vaccine, cases of heart inflammation have definitely been observed. Let's hypothesize as to how this happens. When you get the Pfizer vaccine mRNA is injected into your arm muscle. The cells in that muscle then take in the mRNA and start producing a viral antigen which is what your immune system reacts to. Now a very plausible explanation for heart inflammation is that some of the mRNA gets into the bloodstream and is transported to the heart, where it is taken up by the heart muscle, which then does exactly the same thing as your arm muscle. So the heart inflammation is due to your immune system reacting to the viral antigens that are being produced in your heart. What myself, and many others are worried about is the possibility that some of this mRNA might be transported across the blood-brain barrier and incorporated into brain tissue. Could we then, maybe a few years down the line, see an immune reaction in the brain leading to a neurodegenerative disease, like dementia? The prospect of this happening in lots of young people is absolutely horrific. If I were Johnson or Hancock I would worry far more about this than some bad arse variant developing.
