  1. Putin has seen the Taliban win in Afghanistan, against the might of the West, simply by waiting for the West to tire. He is betting on exactly the same thing happening in Ukraine. However, let's be clear the people in Afghanistan were abject cowards who weren't prepared to fight for themselves. Our brave soldiers didn't deserve to die for them. But the Ukrainians are a courageous people who are worthy of our sustained support until Russia is defeated.
