@explodingdog, I think maybe you’re inclined, primed if you will, to interpret Bush’s speech a certain way. If I said, “Where is Florida’s AOC? Dead, killed by the two-party establishment!” You would neither interpret that as AOC being killed, nor would you see any insult (but rather complimentary).

After arguing from emotion, I accept Bush was right. The Bernie I believed he was, would have beaten Trump handily. The Bernie who Bernie proved to be during the primary (and after) wouldn’t.

Don’t get out of your bubble much? It stuck with Biden among Republicans. Part of the reason the capitol was stormed, the country had been taken over by socialists.

You’re right, it was figurative. He was referring to any populist leader to rise against Hussein. Where’s Iraq’s Mandela? Dead. Bush’s inarticulate nature makes him an easy target for political spin.

@explodingdog, He was using “Mandela” as a catch-all phrase for a populist figure who would challenge the social and political power structures. He was not literally talking about Mandela.

Nah, the Mandela Effect was born from people who thought Mandela died in prison in the 1980’s. This is a skewed clip, unfair really - Bush was (in his inarticulate way) referring to a populist figurehead rising out of Iraq. As in, where is Iraq’s Mandela?

@joanne Murphy, Your comment was wrong, though. The socialist label stuck with Biden. To not realize that, you’d have to be in the leftist bubble where you see clearly the difference between Sanders and Biden, but ignore the right wing perspective where the labeling indeed was successful.

@Captain, I can’t anticipate your low cognitive ability when writing a post. I wrote that the socialist label stuck. True? I wrote that the capitol was stormed because people were convinced a socialist regime fraudulently took over the nation. True? Which part do you disagree with? Or perhaps you are too invested in internet arguments with strangers to admit you jumped the gun and were gasp wrong about something?
