  1. Maize is generally sown mid-April time and harvesting is carried out towards the end of September or into October. It is currently February, I don't think the caller is telling the truth.

  2. I'm not a farmer, but it is currently winter and planting starts in the spring. So how could she lose a maize crop when it was harvested last August?

  3.  @davidnewland8862  Not in Britain, unless you have a greenhouse. Only places like Africa have two harvests per year.
