Another consideration is, if you cannot defend your position, ,as in 1962, then all your infra you spend money and time build will be used by your enemy to get advance into your territory easily . so the question is, if your army good enough for holding the position?? as shown in Oct 10th 2021, The Express Tribune, with title "Indians furious. ..........."

  2. no need to believe me, just check a map, to see how close LAC at Galwan is and how close to SSN. in war, not only it cannot be used, now PLA has a huge base at Galwan, in war, PLA will come out from Galwan river valley, capture the SSN at Galwan, and use it to move down fast to Leh.

India do not know PLA at all, even after 1962 war, they thought PLA would fight India at the a certain fixed position, to shoot each other, that is totally not the style of PLA, PLA do not fight that kind of war, PLA moves, goes around, attack from the back, in 1962 war, the 7th Brigade built bunkers even without shooting open at back, to PLA went around to the back to knock them down, the whole 7th Brigade positions collapsed in just 1 day, and with Brigadier John Dalvi captured by PLA. Then later in Sela pass, India formed strong defense positions, then PLA went around via Belly trail to the back cut off the road 13 at Bomdela, to get the 4th army surrounded, so the defense positions became totally useless, with this news, Indian army just fled, they could go back with the road blocked by PLA, most of them fled everywhere through out mountains, ..................with total near 4000 casualties and anther 4000 captured by PLA

Most Indians do not understand why the fighting was at Galwan, it is even more fun to know the reason, the true story is India took 20 yrs and $1.5 billion built SSN strategic road in Ladakh , , then India army found after 20 years and $1.5 billion, at Galwan, the road is only 5.7 km from China LAC, totally under China's anti tank missile Red Arrow 10's range, which is 10 km, so in war, the road will be totally useless. so the Indian army organized "Operation Snow Leopard", by sending 600 Indian soldiers to push into the Chinese side on June 15 2020, only to be defeated.
