@Rajan_Rout back to Astra, it will be a very interesting situation, in Kashmir area, lots of high mountains, jet usually needs to fly low to avoid radar detection, but for Tejas Mark 1a with Astra, it needs to fly high to let Astra to have max range, at high altitude, Pakistan's AWACS will detect it at least 400 km away. and then JF-17 III with PL-15 to shoot Tejas down from 150 km away, at this height, Astra's range is 110 km
If Tejas fly low, below 8,000 meters, then JF-17 III can shoot it down in 100 km range, at this altitude, Astra's range is only 44 km.
the only thing IAF has that is better than JF-17III is Rafale with meteor (will be available after September 2019). we will see what will happen

1. Dassault has said, if the radar is not from Europe they will not allow India to put meteor on either Su-30 MKI or Tejas.
2. your speed is very slow from track record of HAL, no matter what, all Tejas of whatever type, they are not stealthy, Pakistan may get J31 for all coming Tejas.
3. according to your pilot, Abhinandan said, while he was searching the target, he got shot down.
this told us: 1) he did not get any information from his radar, or his visual, this shows this was a beyond visual range air fight,
2) Pakistan has reported the jet used was JF-17 II, serial number 15-021
3) JF-17 II armed with PL-12 (SD-10) midrange air air missile, and it was used to shoot down your mig 21.
