  10.  @myla6135  Agreed Colonialism is sooo over. If as allies of the west we are a poodle. The just as easy be a poodle of China? The allies are doing a good job in helping Ukraine - with others wanting to join. I guess the west has two options. Poodle of America or have Putin appointed Governments in Europe.

In a autocratic state if you change your mind what can you do about it. Kevin Rudd see's the China threat like the majority of westerners. While it looks if ALL the the Chinese see America as a threat.

Am not discounting some financial interest. Ukranians are fighting a heroic resistance. If they like a Putin appointed Government Putin's plan of a short five day war would of happened.

China also blames America for everything, while Republicans & Democrats, the two political parties in America both agree China is a threat the CCP the only political party in China agrees America is a threat. Agreed China is possibly the biggest threat to America. Xi saying China is under attack from the west like Putin said. Agreed China may act like Putin did and start a special military operation. Fareed is one commentator exercising his right to free speech. Iraq isn't China. Fareed says America will want regime change - really? That's his comment. Texas will ban Chinese buying land there? Texans are already banned from buying land in China. Yes immigration is important to America, while China which has worse demographics accepts hardly any immigrants. I think the relationship all boils down to Taiwan. It has been proved American Tik-Tok data has been accessed from China. Something they said they wouldn't and couldn't do. Tik-Tok is very good but they broke data protection laws – national security threat or not. Still broke the law and China said they wouldn't and couldn't do it. America policy is a by product of America waking up to the threat China is. You only have to read the comments here...

  21. It's the thucydides trap. China could take over peacefully which was their "play the long game plan" by becoming the No1 power in the world. It can be done peacefully when America took over from the UK. I cannot see America's allies going to war just to keep America on top. But China is so different and the liberal-democracies fear that. China's behavior on the world stage is the cause for their concern. China's support for Putin is Europe's great fear.

  24. Cyrus can you cite a specific example when bipartisan agreement achieved something beneficial for China or have they never tried. Maybe if China was more like Taiwan their citizens would be as wealthy as Taiwanese.
