  2. Ever hear of the Coyote? It’s a supersonic cruise missile that the US tests it’s air defenses against. The faster the missile, the shorter the range. The USA prefers subsonic because they fly much further, fly low to the ground, still making them hard to defeat because flying so low doesn’t give much reaction time for the enemy to engage it. Look at how US cruise missile easily struck targets in Syria. Despite Russian SAMs in the area, the missiles all struck their target. Russia was embarrassed and lied that its SAMS intercepted the missiles, but they have no proof of such, despite being forewarned about it. With supersonic missiles, they must be launched much closer to the target, making themselves easier targets. It allows adversaries to stay outside their range, yet being easily able to conduct missions.

  4. Andrew Saavedra Is that why during the MMRCA tender that Russia’s ally India said that the USA had the best weapons, radars and systems, and the USA was not even offering its best? Russians boasts about their cruise missiles performance in Syria, not realizing that the US already used missiles with similar capabilities nearly 30 years ago in the Gulf War, but even on a more grand scale. Tell me WTF has Russia done in the last thirty years that has been innovative. Facts are that Russia has a long history of copying from the West, and if you’re copying that means you’re way behind.
