Between Samaria and Babylon, the overlap is always so confusing. So far I have found this: A lilu or lilû is a masculine Akkadian word for a spirit, related to Alû, demon. The Babylonian concept of lilu may be more strongly related to the later Talmudic concept of Lilith (female) and lilin (female). If I'm reading the above right, it looks like it was the Talmud that influenced this portion (the lilu) of the Babylon religion. Between this and King Solomon's fascination with demons, well...some say the roots of black magic is Judaism. The udug, later known in Akkadian as the utukku, were an ambiguous class of demons from ancient Mesopotamian mythology who were sometimes thought of as good and sometimes as evil. In exorcism texts, the "good udug" is sometimes invoked against the "evil udug"
