  8.  @pauld6967  -- Yikes! I don't blame you for dropping her. I am sure, though, that some poor women would prefer not to have another child and seek an abortion. If the Rabid Christian Right gets their way, like in Texas, and make abortion illegal, not only will taxpayers have to support the poor woman's babies, but there will be a demand for many more childcare programs across the board -- at taxpayer expense. I understand extended programs are part of this "infrastructure plan".

  9. If this scheme to pay illegals any money at all, especially in the amounts proposed, they will have achieved the American Dream and it will last them a lifetime. While Americans suffer and are thrown a measly 4.5% cost-of-living increase on their social security checks. Someone better put a stop to any part of this scheme. If it goes through, those that can should become ex-pats. Throw in the towel. This country is not worth it.

  10.  @pauld6967  - There's only so many famblies who can adopt. So don't whinge and whine when gays and lesbians adopt. Unfortunately in today's world, only the well off or fairly well off can afford to have the wife stay home. Homilies about knowing someone who manages to get by and do so are simply not the notm. Why are there so many single mothers? Part of it is cultural (Spanish and Black cultures), but it's also poverty. Religious homilies and hearsays to prove a point just don't cut it. If you're an adoption type, how many have you adopted?
