  1. Back in the early 2000s a professor gave me his travel vouchers for his trip to France. Listed for gas was converted to US$. It was $70 to fill up the tank. And his car rental was a compact car. At that time gas prices were wildly fluctuating daily here in the US. I couldn't imagine but what if gas prices hit $70 to fill up the tank? A few times it seemed to come close to that figure when I filled up.

  5. I think acceptance of an actor and his antics as president, was an outgrowth of "wokeness" that had taken root in Ukraine among the young. The man was in a dance video with three other men and dancing in heels for crissakes. The video is not a secret. I suppose, as usual, "wokeness" appealed to the youth and so the easy takeover of Ukrainian culture was an easy matter. Did they have gay marriage yet? Interracial marriage? Did they watch "woke" commercials on TV? Was BLM there protesting any form of perceived racism among the Ukrainians? No one knows how little or how much "wokeism" infiltrated the culture. And the country was still too young to understand the full effects of it yet. The special privileges foreigners would get as the Ukrainians themselves become second class citizen. Zelinskyy seemed to be another Trudeau.

  6. Does anyone ever watch the newer food channels? They all make food that looks like it has 100,000 calories. None of it looks nutritious either. Slop, really, though I'm sure it tastes good. If that's the American diet, no emphasis on heath either, then quite whinging and whining about the medical profession and cost of insurance. Luckily there's a trend -- looks like it's on the Left -- that has an emphasis on healthy foods.
