It has to do with a novel by Colin Wilson called The Mind Parasites: The Supernatural Metaphysical Cult Thriller For over 200 years, mind parasites have been lurking in the deepest layers of human consciousness, feeding on human life force and steadily gaining a foothold on the planet. A movie based on this novel was also made. Don't dismiss the premise. I have noticed when I don't play into fears, the things feared don't happen -- usually. One has to balance this with logic sometimes. Plus I don't use up psychic energy -- what the mind parasites are feeding on.

They seem hell bent on provoking such an attack. I honestly don't know why the Media is allowed to instill such fear in the public.
