Comments by "Simon Harris" (@simonharris4873) on "Coalition 'unrepentant' for Robodebt scheme: Bill Shorten" video.
@Neil-yg5gm You're completely missing the point. Labor never put the onus of proof on the individual. That's the problem with the LNP version of robodebt. So to claim it was started by Labor, without pointing out that very important point, well that's virtually lying, isn't it.

@Neil-yg5gm Computers aren't the problem, it's those who program them. The LNP ran a vastly different program than Labor did. Stop trying to blame Labor for the LNP's mistakes.
5
That would be like blaming it on the first government to being in social security; utterly pointless and highly disingenuous.
4
@Neil-yg5gm Another lie. Those new methods made the system vastly different, which is why the LNP are facing and enquiry, and Labor are not. The LNP also passed the burden of proof onto the individual. Labor never did that.
3
@Neil 2020 Your assumption that Labor would have implemented the same illegal policy that the LNP did is unfounded.
2
@Neil 2020 The LNP were advised that their changes to the system would make it illegal. They ignored that advice and went along with the changes anyway. There's nothing to suggest Labor would have also done this. Nothing!
2
@Neil-yg5gm Your "fact" is irrelevant. The system became illegal when the LNP changed it. There is nothing to suggest this would have happened under Labor, as you keep asserting.
2
@Neil-yg5gm Labor never automated the process of issuing fines and notices. That was the LNP, and that is the heart of the Robodebt system, so to claim this is in any way Labor's doing or responsibility is quite dishonest.
2
@Neil-yg5gm No, it was automated when the LNP removed the manual checks. What started in 2011 was modified in 2015 to become illegal. It has nothing to do with Labor, so stop your trolling.
2
@Neil-yg5gm Do you think the mere "use of a computer" is the problem here? Or do you think the problem is more centred on the specific way in which the computer was used?
2
@NathanCroucher He certainly has a very peculiar sense of reality.
2
@Neil-yg5gm No, the system wasn't fully automated under Labor, troll. The LNP did that.
2
Matching data between Centrelink and the ATO to catch welfare cheats was a good idea. The LNP went well beyond that, collecting over 10 times the estimate set out be Labor. Posting only half the truth is no different from lying,.
1
@Neil-yg5gm Yes, the problem was the computer the LNP bought in. Nothing to do with Labor. So why do you keep mentioning Labor?
1
@Neil-yg5gm Answer the question. Why do you keep mentioning Labor, when they had nothing to do with any impropriety in this matter?
1
@Neil-yg5gm Except that's not what happened, is it. You're just trying to blame Labor for something that happened entirely in the LNP Watch. Anyway, thanx for confirming that you have no reason what so ever to blame this on Labor.
1
@Neil 2020 No, what the LNP did was the start of a fully automatic system. Nothing Labor did was fully automated. This has nothing to do with Labor, troll. Nothing.
1
@Neil-yg5gm So what you're saying is, there was nothing wrong with Labor's policy, until the LNP modified it to make it illegal. Again I must ask, why do you persist in tying this to Labor, when the illegalities have nothing to do with them?
