  1. The engines from Toyota we know and love all had issues when they first came out. Give Toyota at least the opportunity and time to perfect this one just like they did the 1UZ, 1UR, 2GR, 3UR etc

  4. Hmm not quite getting started. The 2JZ, and 8AR-FTS come to mind here. See Car Care Nut's video on the 8AR in the NX200t that lasted ~40k miles WITHOUT AN OIL CHANGE It's just a manufacturing error/defect in an engine which can happen to any of them. It's not even because of the turbos themselves here; take the turbos out and these engines can still see the same damage they're having

  9. From what I understand the cab doesn't have to be removed, it's just the easiest way since everything is moved out of the way. You can see on this channel AMD taking out an engine by lifting it straight out of the bay or keeping it still and moving the body up above it

  10. Even the same engine with the same designations can be slightly different in some aspects for it's application. Sedan VS truck etc. One example is the 2.4L turbo 4 cylinder Toyota uses in it's trucks only have about 54% in common with the 2.4L turbo 4 in it's passenger vehicles, despite having the same name

  11. One's been out since ~2010 and one about 2 (the truck variant of the V35A) The fair comparison is comparing the ecoboost when it first came out, which surprise wasn't problem free as well.
