AMD, Thanks for the TIME you spent making this painstakingly detailed list of all the Toyota/ Lexus models we CANNOT POSSIBLY find in the used car market today. 😂 On a serious note, the Pontiac Vibe was built on the same assembly line that produced millions of reliable Corollas for two decades and in the same plant that established the rock solid reputation of the Tacoma. The biggest problem with the Vibe is that they were very often purchased by clueless 😵💫GM shoppers and therefore neglected. Those of us who purposely bought a Toyota Matrix-in-disguise (at a nice discount) took very good care of them. My Pontiac Vibe has received 18 years of proper preventative maintenance and provided 18 years of impeccable service 👏👏👏👏. All signs point to a propitious future meeting the expected Toyota standard.😁

Yes, I seem to remember a whole video about that rubber line.

On the rare occasions my Vibe needs new parts. I always get them from Toyota. The Vibe and Corolla were built on the same California assembly line. They are of equal quality.
3
@rnt45t1 The A/C on my Vibe has worked perfectly for the 18 years I have owned it.
3
Good luck with your new LS. AMD has been very thorough in shattering our illusions that a complicated luxury car could be as cheap to run as a Camry or Corolla.
3
@billricheter5678 I am an 18 year Vibe owner.
3
A driving instructor in Ontario traded in his Corolla when it reached approximately 990,000 km. I believe the dealership keeps it on display.

Yes, the Yaris is a fine car. Best of all they have plenty of space inside compared to the current TNGA cars which are extremely disappointing in that regard. The Yaris of your generation has more headroom than the RAV4 does today.

Exactly.

It was never sold in North America.

The service manager of a rural dealership that sold almost every GM brand told me the warranty claims on the Vibe were 20% of the GM average. In my mind that makes it 5 times as good as a GM car built by GM. My Vibe has served me for 18 years with just 3 non-scheduled repairs. We also have a Tacoma in the family which was built in the same plant. I am still ticked off that GM and Toyota closed the joint venture factory that built our vehicles.

AMD owns a 2022 Camry Hybrid. He was going to buy an Avalon Hybrid but it did not offer the same updated tech in its last year on the market.
2
He has a whole video on the new Tundra.
2
And the Toyota Matrix is a Vibe.
2
@chaseallsup10 He has discussed that IS 250 in some detail in earlier videos.
2
@billricheter5678 Every Matrix was built on a Corolla assembly line in Cambridge, Ontario. Every Vibe was built on a Corolla assembly line in Fremont, California.
2
The Vibe was built on the same California assembly line that produced millions and millions of reliable Corollas. That plant also launched the Tacoma and established its rock solid reputation. There is no quantifiable difference between a Corolla or Matrix made in Cambridge, Ontario from 2002 -2009 or a Corolla or Vibe made in Fremont, California in the same time period.

I don't think there are enough hours in the day.......

Back in the 1970s I was a frequent passenger in a manual Corona wagon but I have never had the chance to drive one.
1
The Vibe is a great car. I have been driving mine for 18 years. The 2.4 engine is a rare example of a Toyota engine that failed to live up to expectations. I hope you have seen the vidoes AMD has done repairing them.
1
@FRalex152 The Avensis has an outstanding reputation . If yours has been well maintained, you have a good car. Bonne Chance !
1
I am sure they belong on the list of very reliable Toyotas but they just did not sell in high enough numbers to be included.
1
There are a lot of ripoff prices out there today.
1
Maybe we will hear it next year. Sales were rather low so perhaps it did not come to mind when compiling the list.
1
I hope it isn't too late to pair it up with a 2 door Prado. 😁
1
He should do a full video on the Yaris and then follow it up with a Scion special.
1
Was it made in Ontario or California?
1
If you live in the Salt Belt, rust is neglect.
1
He loves it, he did a full video about it.
1
He has a full video on the current RAV4 in Hybrid and non-Hybrid form.
1
Do you have the 1.8 engine? Was yours made in Ontario or California?
1
Allowing, PSA/Stellantis, BMW, Subaru or anyone else to build the car and then putting a Toyota badge on it is something they will come to regret.
1
This is AMD's advantage in specializing in just one automaker, he can notice the tiniest details.
1
I drive an 18 year old, rust free Toyota here in Ontario, Canada where salt is applied to the roads from November to April. If you live in the Salt Belt and refuse to rustproof your car, you deserve all the rust you get.
1
@plamendobrev5416 It goes to Krown every year.
1
The Matrix was built on a Corolla assembly line in Ontario. The Vibe was built on a Corolla assembly line in California.
1
@christopherdeguzman1137 The interiors of the Matrix and Vibe are the same including the GM radio. Only the brand badge in the center of the steering wheel is different.
1
@lukek1949 The Vibe has a GM a/c compressor and radio and every other component was Toyota. The worst issue to hit Vibes was the oil burning caused by the Camry's 2.4 engine with the bad piston rings. If AMD got a poorly built Vibe in his shop it was a fluke.
1
I hope we can expect a full video dedicated to the Yaris very soon.
1
He did a video about it a month ago.
