  2. There are vast differences in the quality of 'synthetic ' oils on the market. You have invested in a car that can be reasonably expected to last 300,000 miles or more. Driving 10,000 miles with cheap motor oil that only meets the minimum standard would be a really, really bad idea. The Project Farm Youtube channel did an excellent comparison of major oil brands a couple of years back which clearly demonstrated the gap in quality between best and worst. There are many other sources of objective information on synthetic motor oil. There is also a vast difference in oil filter performance. My car is a very poor cousin to yours but it gets the best oil and oil filter available. After 18 years with top quality oil the engine runs as smoothly as the day it left the factory.

  4. I was sorry to learn OMC is no longer with us. We have a 1970 Johnson 25 hp outboard sitting in semi-retirement in our shed.

  5.  @jeancassel  I have used Amsoil Signature Series since the first oil change. Initially I followed the Toyota 'severe service' intervals for oil changes. When the powertrain warranty ended after 5 years, I switched to Amsoil's own Severe Service interval of 1 year /15,000 miles for non-turbo engines with a Amsoil top spec oil filter. I am in my 13th year of their program with no issues. Naturally, I use Amsoil lubricant in my manual transmission as well. 🤩

  6.  @coloradoboo1071  I was just a kid in the 70s and I know for a fact our 1973 Caprice Estate wagon had a 400 V8 with 2 barrel carburetor 😉
