@jackkenny4194 If you needed a vehicle and every lot within 50 miles was 98% suv, truck, or cuv...... what would you likely be buying? What if 98% of the vehicle choices had automatic or CVT transmissions, what would you likely be using? What if 98% of the vehicles were some shade of gray, silver, or ultimately bright red or black. What color would you be driving? Now look on the highways and tell me what you see. Tell me all of those vehicle drivers chose their vehicles for reasons other than sheer availability and marketing.

People's choosing of a product has very little to do with their choosing, but a lot to do with product availability and the marketing pushing it.

@Fabiek3 Having worked half my life in a lot of difference places, I can say, raises are seldom given to anyone who's doing exceptional jobs.

@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Whoda thunk that VW would be one of the last brands "saving the manuals" ....... until they didn't.

@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Yes, the manuals are no longer available on the mk8 2024+ models, DCT only. Glad I snatched up a low mile Mk7.5 manual GTI a couple years back.

Please can we quantify good information on the basis of something other than money?

@buzzwaldron6195 Utility type vehicles cost the manufacturer less to make, by skirting certifications and regulations. But they used to contribute to half or less than half of manufacturer models. When you cut half your lineup, want to make the same money as before, what do you do? Cram utility vehicles with Star Trek technology to jack up prices. Now the whole tide is risen, and all ships have gone up. You can't buy much of anything for less than 30 grand.

Isn't it fun chasing the tail of reactionary economic pressures with moronic manufacturers?

@klondike69none85 The purpose of government is NOT to meddle in industry. The government is already 80% too big.

@klondike69none85 What exactly is the purpose of Federal and State government by laws and orders? What were those offices designed to be used for?

@klondike69none85 Are you a US Citizen?

Bigger, much more complex things than all of this have happened (along with the expensive fallout, both to human life and assets) due to just a couple or a few egotistical goons operating in roles of industry power where they had no business being.

@Chris-nn3vu I care about the real assets of a Nation, whatever the currency is to exchange those.

@Floris_VI Let me guess, you would rather Socialism or Communism.
