  1. Speaking of things flat and cross... I really like Yamaha's crossplane 4-banger. But I will say, these 4-bangers are stupidly thirsty engines compared to their flat-plane counterparts. Maybe you could explain the reason behind this increased fuel consumption? It's as much as 10 mpg difference, while producing near identical power.
