  1. The precision bombing strategy used to deal with Belgrade would not work with Damascus for many reasons, if that is what Ms. Amanpour suggests here. And that is because a Syrian casualty would be viewed by the Arab community as a Muslim casualty, while Serbian casualties were not viewed by the European community as Christian casualties. In other words, there wasn't much sympathy for Slobodan, and he and his advisors knew very well that eventually they could be targeted personally. Bashar and his people don't really have that problem (yet). And attacking ISIS only serves to help perpetuate the Assad regime. So, my approach to the problem would be the most radical one, as usual. Go straight for the brain and let the body fall where it may. Had that been done at the onset, as I had recommended, Isis would still be just another comic book character and hundreds of thousands of lives could have been spared. How disappointing
