  3. Abuse happens in almost every place where adults meet children, it's wrong to think that only one institution is behind abuse. The Catholic church today is safer for children due to the new reforms brought in after the scandle.

  6. Rosario, children are now safer in the church than in a school, due to the safeguards that have been put in place. And there now a zero tolerance for any deviency within the priesthood. The cover-up was a stupid attempt to preserve the reputation of the church in the public eye, not because the church condones child abuse, but thankfully things have now changed and any abuse is not tolerated. We've seen this recently with the Pope's reaction against the church in Chile.

Yes, but now the pendulum is swinging in the opposite direction, where people want absolute unrestricted freedom from all societal norms and institutions, hence the demise of the traditional family, and even logic itself is no longer the standard to determine right from wrong.
