Comments by "AWResistance" (@AlanWattResistance) on "Irish abortion referendum: Would it be a moment of Change for Ireland? - BBC News" video.
Abortion is a privilege not a right, we're just removing that privilege. No one's forcing you to have a baby, you're forcing yourself to have a baby by engaging in sexual intercourse.

Can you remember being in a coma? That's not justification for murder.

Change in the wrong direction.

@tiffany, Abortion is technically a privilege. It's the privilege of not being prosecuted for ending the life of the unborn. Abortions can only be carried out if certain criteria are met. In England if a woman had an abortion at home with the consent of two doctors or using non-prescribed medicine or procedures, she can still be prosecuted for homicide. Abortion is not like having a tooth removed, you need two doctors approval to make the exeception to the law valid. You do not have the right to end the life of the unborn in England after 24weeks, so there are restrictions on 'her body'. Her 'choice' is not absolute. Also, the Irish will only allow abortions up to 12weeks, so you 'right to choose' will still not be absolute, nor should it be.

Ok, then i suppose people who don't own guns shouldn't have a say on gun control either? Is that how politics works?

Abortion is a privilege not a right. Removing that privilege is not 'forcing' anyone to do anything, YOU have the choice to have protected sex or no sex.

Listen to yourself! Denying that an unborn baby is even a human? It's a precious life in process.

The church are merely passionate about a certain ethical standard, which it is right to hold.

@Spag Hetti, Explain pro-life atheists? It's ethics, not religion, but nice try.
2
We better start killing those coma patients then.
2
@Josh Dawson, It's an ethical issue that religious people are more inclined to hold, but the ethical standard they hold to exists despite the religion, hence why atheists can also be pro-life. But nice try.

@Vesolus, You just proved my point.

They'll vote for liberals to destroy Ireland.

Sven, No, the correct direction is to deny women the government-granted privilege, the privilege of not being prosecuted for ending the life of the unborn. Abortion is still a criminal offense, but exceptions are allowed if certain criteria are met. If a woman decided to have an abortion at home without the approval of two doctors or using a certified procedure, the woman can still be charge with homicide of the unborn. Abortion therefore is not a natural right, but a privilege. The pro-life stance therefore is about taking away government involvement in the abortion debate. Pro-life is the neutral position.
