There's a reason why Jesus said that God is 'opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble', God reveals himself to those worthy of being revealed too.

  3. A creator God does exist, you just haven't met him yet. I said gain self-knowledge. By studying yourself you'll find out exactly who and what you are, only then can you begin the journey towards knowing God. My 'guy in the sky' wants everyone to be fit and healthy, which is why the vast majority of us are. Children getting bone-cancer is an unintended consequence of living in this world. It's an aberration, not an intended goal. If my God is real, i owe him full praise and honour for my very existence, because existence itself is a good. And it's nice to know that your objection to 'my god' is simply because you believe he is sadistic, because in reality you hate this world and it's sufferings as much as i do, but instead of reaching out to God for consolation, you rage against your maker by lying to yourself that he doesn't exist. The good we have in life stems from God, the bad from the world, but you blame God for the bad and attribute the good to yourself, you have everything in reverse.
