I have to pack away my dual fuel stove after each use, so the hose does get disconnected when I use propane. However, I've had the occasional brain fart where I start unscrewing the hose at the stove instead of the tank, and propane shoots out. Doh. Also, I have the door open at least a crack when I use the stove.

I had the standard Coleman single burner like your Old Fireball. I didn't like it because it seemed to have only two settings: too hot and totally burned. Simmering was impossible. Then I was given a butane-only stove. I really liked the piezo starter and superior temperature control, but it didn't like to burn when the ambient temperature was low. So I got one of the larger Gas One dual fuels. Problem solved. I pack my stove away between uses because of the way my van is set up, so the regulator thing probably won't be a problem. But sometimes I have a brain fart and start to disconnect the hose from the stove before disconnecting the propane bottle. FSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!! Oops!

As someone who has lived with natural gas stoves, ovens and furnaces all my life, I'm totally comfortable with propane/butane in my van.

My trouble is I'm rarely in a part of the country with Asian markets.
