  1. A lot of the heat in a van (or building, for that matter) is the vehicle and the stuff in it that's at the ambient temperature. You can cool the air but everything else is still putting out heat. My method for dealing with heat is pointing the front of the van north (away from the sun) opening the driver window, the side door and one of the back doors. If there isn't a natural breeze I turn on a fan. And if that's not enough, I too go to where it isn't as hot. Stay cool, amigo.
