  1. (I'm one of those pedants who insists elevation is height on the ground and altitude is height in the air.) After months at sea level it can be rough going up a few thousand feet. I hope it was just dehydration. I was at 11,000 feet yesterday and, to my surprise, no elevation sickness or shortness of breath. But I've been living at 6,000 the past few months, so maybe that helped.
