I would suspect that on higher end vehicles that they would have used brass if it made sense. The rubber provides some isolation. I had a race car and used brass bushings in the shift cable but there wasn't anything like that for the brakes.

When I got my first can of Never Seez back in the 1960s it came with a booklet that explained that you needed to decrease torque by 20 percent when using it. There are tables you can find on the net that show correct torque for dry, oiled, etc. My Alcoa wheels require lubrication only in certain places (no, I don't remember where) and a torque of 500 foot pounds. Yeah, they are truck wheels (22.5") on my 36' motor home. Question: you haven't replaced the rotors so they should already have material from the old pads, wouldn't that mean you don't need to bed in the brakes based on what you said about putting lining on the rotors?
