Kremlin: No one proposed Easter truce in Ukraine Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that there were no official requests for an Easter truce in Ukraine and that previous similar initiatives faced "Kiev's unwillingness" to adhere to them. Pope Francis previously suggested a two-week ceasefire that would cover both the Catholic and Orthodox Easter holidays. Peskov also said Russia witnessed "multiple provocative actions in a very short period of time" aimed at China. He said China "has the sovereign right to respond to these provocative actions," including by holding military drills around Taiwan as long as they respect international law. He called on other countries to respect China's rights.

Er, Russia never said it was holding a winter offensive. It did say it would grind the UKrainian forces away by attrition. Exactly what they have done. Putin has never lost a war btw and not likely to do so.
