@sogsog111 Look it up, China's main goal for the Belt and Road was the European market . Not Africa, Middle East. or nearby Asia. Italy alone has the same GDP as all 5 of the the Middle East OPEC members combined . There are only 3 economic super power on the earth , China , the EU and the US.

@merrick6484 Foreign loans are risky in 3rd world countries that change leaderships like people change their minds. The is no world enforcement Laws. In the 1950-60s The Middle East just woke up one day and kicked out the Western big oil Companies and gave the exec's a day to back their bags. Just like Buying property in foreign countries all you really have is a scrap of paper saying you own something for now. Japanese property owners in the US and Canada found out what they really owed after Pearl Harbor. And were sent to detention camps. When the war was over they never got the property back .

@commie5211 China want to trade where the money is . Western consumer have more money to spend . China caters to consumers . North America and Europe consumers out spend 15 Africas.
