This is a different situation from the past - Israel has to rid Hamas, clearly. They can't repair the fences, stand down, negotiate & wait for the next horrible attack. It's over. But we also understand that lousy dangerous govts don't ideologically represent their people's beliefs. (Stunned Americans screamed this in 2001.) However, most civilzed people don't take to the streets in jubilation when those they oppose, esp the innocent, are horribly butchered. It's one reason why Egypt won't let Palestinian refugees flood over their border. They know the dangers. And why Gaza remains a controlled prison territory - non-stop historical violence; annihilating jihad against Jews. They can't be trusted, sadly. These reasons are rarely discussed. (Not saying Israel is innocent. They've played violent games for decades too. But nothing like what just happened. There has to be a stopping point re the insanity & Hamas handed Israel the last word regarding it. Stupid, yes.)

@SchrodingersFortKnox Because Egypt shares their country with the Muslim Bro'hood? If so, yes - a flood of 1 million+ unhappy suffering muslim refugees settling in for the long haul could become overwhelming & problematic. Although Egypt is mostly Muslim anyway. But faction differences might turn to friction issues, guessing.

@SchrodingersFortKnox Thank you - I see exactly what you mean. And agree, esp your last point. Can easily picture that. While Muslims mostly stick together, many do not like the Palestinians,/Hammas & their influence. Because they're too violent & trigger happy. Maybe. Y'day Palestinians were wringing their hands & crying "Why is nobody helping us?" Very sad, but also very telling. (If Israel does level 2/3 of Gaza, & Egypt refuses the refugees, Palestinians will be busy for a long time rebuilding. Which might mean less time, energy & materials used terrorizing Israel. A bit twisted, but...)
