  1. If he's found guilty of domestic battery (?), in LA, the min mandatory time served is 30 days. (Unless the judge decides otherwise.) The girl may have provoked the response she received, but the best wisest thing for him to have done was stay silent & leave. Or ask her to leave, if she'll oblige. The same goes when men are physically hurt by women who become verbally obnoxious & aggressive towards them - leave immediately. I've seen both men & women guilty of bad physical behaviors & men almost always take the brunt of the legal punishment regardless. Unfair, but that's the way it is. And once the problem goes legal like this, repairing the relationship is nearly impossible. (If kids are involved, get a lawyer asap & figure out what's best for them.)
