Eternal rest was simply taught to me to be freedom thru physical release (death) from exhausting & painful earthly needs & negative feelings - hunger, physical pain, guilt, jealousy, sadness, doubt, confusion, unhealthy dependences & so on. A very Sunday school mentality but maybe it touches upon something legitimate.
