  1. ​ @SSingh-nr8qz Interesting idea, but it echoes Govt backed Israeli settlement on Palestinian-claimed land after WW2. The deal that started this modern age fighting. Nobody wanted to accept the Jews either, so Govts stepped in & brokered the homeland deal. However, if Egypt should eventually decide to accept Palestinians, that's their deal & risk to live with, alone. Best the world stay out of such land deals this time.

  2. Good points. The Palestinians who support Hamas are the least liked & least trusted Muslims, per other Muslims in that region. Hopefully the Lebanon border fighting is mostly a reluctant "show" than actual hard support for Hamas. (To which Israel should back-off & stop firing if Lebanon shows signs of wanting out of the situation. Let's hope so.)

  3. True. Even most other ME Muslims agree with your point. Sadly, it's why many Palestinians are crying, "Why won't anyone help us?" (Much of it's strategic access issues, true. And, regardless of why - how bizarre & ironic is it that the Israelis are trying to save more Palestinians than Hamas? Before they both level Gaza.)

  4. It's awful, on all fronts. And beyond political one-upmanship for observers not directly affected. And who really gives a damn about politics right now? Still, it continues to be the justification for this horrendous situation, both sides. The bigger picture of horrific human destruction - bodies, souls, life, means little for the sickos. It's all about fighting over stupid senseless political views. Very sad. (Agree about Herzog's comment. After Sept 11 there were many angry reckless emotional outbursts by Americans, top to bottom. After the shock wears off, most people do regain some sensible control over their emotions. Hopefully.)
