  1.  @ChicagoMike85  They're not the only proclaimed American ally using & backstabbing the US, pretty certain. They just happen to be better at hiding it & schmoozing us. What's interesting is that many of their fellow "American allies" have no genuine interest in their distant homeland's policies. Their agenda here is mostly financial gain for US political control. Their homeland? "Ehh. A nice place to vacation - but who wants to live there?" Their homeland is more about retaining military power & literal physical protection. Through political influence. Because they really have very little power leverage to play with, in controlling the US. Their people here are simply not as loyal to the homeland as people believe. (This comes directly from a staunch "ally" who told me so. Albeit a rarer politically conservative one.) Still, sleeping with one eye open decade after decade is exhausting for the motherland & the US is the only watchdog willing to sleep at their feet. I don't know if it's because of blind biblical-based loyalty or secret recipe special treats. Something. I'm not astute enough to figure it out. But it shouldn't be guilt - we Yanks saved their butts 80 years ago. We weren't the ones Euro-stomping them.
