  1. Exactly. I think they began struggling to fill their stores with enough overstock stuff & added their own retail line of items to make up for it. Nice things but priced high. I stopped visiting the store because of this after 2 decades of being a loyal customer. (Also saw fewer & fewer customers in the store every trip, as well.)

  3. Big Lots was my go-to store for decades, for interesting food, affordable appliances, household stuff, clothes, etc. Their bankruptcy is more than just the bad economy though. A few years ago, BL began selling their own custom lines of products at high prices. And lost their competitive edge, sadly. 😢
