  2. It's not. Suicide rates are very high, there is an immense pressure to perform, many safe drugs are extremely illegal while legal but harmful drugs (alcohol, tobacco) are still seen as 'cool' in many parts of the country, a lot of japanese men are NEETs, etc. Japan isn't that great.

  3. Why is populism a good thing? The way I see it is that it's pretty weird to be proud of something just because you were born in that country by chance and it can also be really dangerous because it creates a we-vs-them mentality and dehumanizes 'outsiders' which is the catalyst for war-crimes.
