The Angles originated in an areas along the German/Danish border; and ousted the last Romans in possession of the lands of the Celtic Brythons (Britons), giving us the name Angle Land (England). The Saxons - named after their speciality weapon, the seax - came over from North German and the Scandanavian countries. My own paternal long-father was a Dane (according to the family history). Let's not even start adding the Vikings or the Norsemen/Northmen of France, 1066 and all that, because everyone was interrelated by that point. Soooo...... they had such a significant impact on these isles that practically all of today's English and a lot of Americans are their descendents. Trying to erase the term Anglo-Saxon because it's a hurty term is completely insane. Btw, my maternal line is Welsh, and the Welsh still regard themselves as Celts, a lot of the Celtic-heritage tribes having retreated into the highlands there. Guess that this charming intellectual who does not like the term Anglo-Saxon will be after cancelling the term Britain next.

  3. Don't believe that everyone is clueless. Recent scenes of peaceful weapon-wielding gangs up to several hundred strong, and the loony Left vainly chasing non-existent RW thugs (with added termination threats), haven't been ignored.
