  1. I’d dispute ‘depressed’. Eowyn was filled with despair and Aragorn represented the hope she’d lost (you know, because he’s called Estel?), so fixated her love on him. When she thought that hope lost, she went to die in the only way she saw as honourable, on the battlefield. Eowyn is a classic Anglo-Saxon heroine.
