Never going to happen. You need 3/4ths of states to ratify. The constitutional unintentionally gives a significantly disproportionate amount of power to states with very low populations, and those low population states are currently far right republican states.

@tomk7216 I wouldn't call it a fair compromise when most of the states that are banning abortion also refuse to teach real sex education in schools (abstinence "education" is a joke that doesn't work). As for your comment about condoms, I don't think you realize how often condoms break, and it assume that they get used. A fair compromise would be allowing 1st term abortions like everywhere else in the civilized world and not going back to the clothes hanger abortions of 50 years ago.

It's funny that you don't know the basic function of a government and what issues they can and can't solve. Congress and the president don't control baby formula availability, gas prices, housing prices, or inflation. The "southern border crisis" isn't a crisis, it's a fox news propaganda term to scare their racist audience that "mexicans" are coming to take their jobs. There is a real homelessness crisis in various parts of the country, but that's fairly regional and is best resolved at the state level.

@poofy228 I'm a realist, I don't deal with fantasy and the reality of the US at the current moment is that you'll never get a constitutional amendment legalizing abortion. I'd rather get congress to pass a free contraception bill which is more realistic, and then for a constitutional amendment to overrule the supreme court's ruling in citizens united.

e- w- How does banning birth control or not affect a constitutional amendment? Answer: It doesn't. Before replying again take a basic logic course. Your best bet is to fight that and abortion at the state level because you're never going to get a constitutional amendment and the makeup of the supreme court is going to be far right for at least the next decade.

@regwilliam5691 That's your excuse to explain why we don't living in a functioning democracy. We're the only "democracy" in the world where popular vote is irrelevant.

@regwilliam5691 I see reading comprehension isn't a skill you possess. Most people in this country (including me) think that abortion should be legal. I just stated the reality of the situation in this country. If you don't like reality, that's not my fault or problem.
