BJP should have given some "revdis" to the middle class. They seem confident of their hold over the middle class but Hindu unity is historically very fickle. They have taken a big risk.

@SPrabhakar The current Hindu unity is not so fickle that they will bring Congress back to power. Actually, my bad. I often underestimate the role of RaGa in BJP's victory.

@SPrabhakar Okay, Wait for the May results and see for yourself. Be ready to blame the EVMs.

Exactly. BJP needs to exhibit more caution. However, I think there is another angle to this. It allows them to fuel the perception of a "loser" Opposition. There are genuine reasons for the BJP to put faith in its own performance and brand Modi.

@realhumphreyappleby Vajpayee was heavily dependent on allies while brand Modi sweeps 250+ on his own. Vajpayee's BJP's best hope was 180 seats, while Modi's BJP started at 200. However, caution is warranted.

Not all PSUs are loss-makers. There has been a marked improvement in customer service across PSUs. 14 years ago, I opened my first Bank account in Corporation bank. I remember struggling to fill out the form, and the staff was mean and unhelpful. Recently, I got a call from Union Bank (Corporation Ban has been merged into Union Bank) reminding me of my dormant account. The new staff is young and friendly, and he did it post-lunch without creating any fuss. He also informed of the insurance and PM's National Pension Scheme. PSUs need professional management for turnaround. State-run PSUs are still a concern but there are better options than "selling".

@SPrabhakar Okay. let's wait and see everything the election result "day".

@BharatThatIsIndia I don't need lessons from a quack who attributed the banking turnaround to accounts ki "hera pheri". In your blind hate and haste, you forgot to see that "revdi" in my comment was in quotes. From the context, it was clear that I meant outreach and benefits to the middle class. Govt (irrespective of the party in power) being fiscally prudent is a good thing. I would have preferred they throw caution out of the window (only temporarily) to win elections. Some countries have no income tax, but such countries are resource-rich. We don't have such sources of income. The middle class has been carrying the country since independence. Even the richest farmers in India don't pay income tax. There is also the argument that the tax on agriculture is politically a non-starter and overall subsidy allocation in comparison to developed countries is far less. There are many sides to things. There are many (including Shekhar) who recommend "disinvestment," but I don't think privatizing everything is a good idea. Govt policy has many dimensions. I will support policies that I like and express my anguish over those that I do not like. Lastly, it is a free country; everyone is entitled to their political preferences and comments on social media platforms. Your need to abuse others shows your "helplessness".

@nandanrajeev2452 Glad to see KC Venugopal getting some recognition. RaGa overshadows KCl, and the hardworking Kerala BJP worker often doesn't get his due credit.

@BharatThatIsIndia , You keep condescending and judging others. That's the only thing people like you are good for. People have their own parameters to evaluate a government's performance. Nobody needs some random "Vishal Shekhar Yadav's" approval or validation. I prefer a united, casteless Hindu society. I also want Gyanvyapi and Mathura back and to have a per capita GDP of over USD 20,000. These are my wants, and I don't impose them on others. "Revadi" in quotes is exactly a jibe at Modi's "revadi" statement. I'll be critical of the Government when I feel a particular thing is not to my liking. Common people are still talking about everything. It is people like you who don't get importance these days. No "aukaat" or notable achievement but no. 1 in "Gyaanpelu". I am biased, and I don't pretend otherwise. You are free to disagree.
