  1. I kind of feel that both Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi may not be taking a backseat, but they don't seem to be in the front seat either in these elections. It's really a battle of state leaders, and the Narendra Modi amplification is far less pronounced this time. Empowering state leaders and sidelining Gandhis is probably the best way forward for INC. With the Caste census demand, INC may have not damaged the BJP, but certainly poured cold water on its succession plan.
