  1. Floods in Assam are a recurring problem. A long-term solution is needed here. The Netherlands too faced a similar situation but they have now built a sophisticated system of dams and gates that prevent water accumulation. Of course, Assam is no Holland but some ingenious thinking is required to address this issue.
