The "Go organic" propaganda was actually cropped up to save up foreign exchange by avoiding spending on fertilizers. Clearly, nobody thought it through.

Don't simply start "new" fires. Govt is coming with an IPO for LIC (hopefully). It will help the company raise equity and bring in more efficient corporate governance (hopefully). Nothing is being SOLD. Also, nobody is SELLING railways.

@superabadtalkies2157 Like I said nobody thought it through. Some bureaucrat must have told Rajpaksas that the FX crisis is inevitable (Tourism contributes to 10% of SL's GDP which went completely down the drain during the Pandemic). Rajpakese must have asked for solutions. Some genius bureaucrats must have suggested "cutting down imports" to save currency. Fertilizers and pesticides rank among SL's largest imports. So why not go organic? The rest is HISTORY.

I can produce enough information and links to point on socialist leaders and their not so socialists "assets"/ Also, produce evidence of the link between Rajapakse and Modi. The Rajapakse family has been in power even before Modi. Congress was in power during the crushing end of SL's civil war.

@manjulashanmugasundaram706 Just Google? Rajapakse is a politician the only ideology that the family has is power like every other politician globally. It is the same for the Karunanidhi family, the Yadav family, and the Gandhi family of India. I also googled - Nothing of significance appeared. The country is Buddhist majority and these Buddhists tend to be closely knit. Almost, every Govt pander to monks including the previous Wickramsinghe administration. I

@manjulashanmugasundaram706 Another FICTION WITHOUT EVIDENCE. She contested election and lost. Her Govt carried out the most number of privatizations some of which were even annulled by the Supreme Court. She was also accused of large scale corruption. She lost fair and square.

@TaiwanBestCountry With all due respect, "War criminal" is not a title that you have the power to bestow. Terrorism was a reality in SL and it was crushed during the Rajapaksa rule. Even Taiwan wouldn't allow secessionist movements within its country,. At the end of the day, Gotabaya is SL's elected leader. The position command respect. However, his policies can be a domain of criticism. It is very immature to bring decade-old war into the picture now esp when non-Rajapaksa Govt under Wickramsinghe-Sirisena served its term.
