  8.  @Dr.SD4079  Humans are at the epicenter of politics and religion. As we all know humans are flawed. Sometimes it's best to let people learn from mistakes. We don't vote to appoint hugely successful management figures like Ratan Tata or Aditya Puri. We get what we get. At the level of a PM usually it is more about leaving behind a legacy. People may have their grievances against Modi or Indira or Nehru or MMS or VP Singh or Vajpayee or Narsmiharao but all have made contribution to India's development. As to Islam, you may believe what you want to believe but my first hand experience has been worse. It is also true for many others. Your religion has no relevance outside your home or even beyond your own body but with Islam things are assertive and confrontational. Burning of firecrackers in places with bad air quality is also stupidity irrespective of the festival or the significance of it to a particular religious community. India cannot be bracketed into the Anglo-American philosophies of left and right. The ideological division was never perfect to begin with. India's right has traditionally been more progressive at least on the economic front. MMS era was more engaging at least until the first term. After that it got overrun by the leftists (and corruption) of Rahul era. Most Indians are libertarians and there are not many true liberals. Everyone trolling others is intellectually bankrupt. Perhaps trolling Modi or Rahul is fine (Occupational hazard) but why bring voters into the mix? Obviously that is no way to win over them and if they don't shift basis you are anyways not going to win. In the end respect the vote even if you can't respect the leader.
