Modi should withdraw the reforms. It appears Indian farmers are happy getting looted by the middlemen and defaulting on loans and later committing suicides. LET THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE PREVAIL. Modi should instead pass another law that only gives subsidy and MSP procurement to poor farmers who own less than 5 acres of land and less than 10 lakhs income and don't have the money to hire laborers to work on their fields while they can lay siege to Delhi.

@vidyanagarajan9135 What difference does it make? I am from Maha. We along with Guj, Goa, and the rest of South India have been carrying the burden of North India for the last 70 years. We shall do it for another 70 years. We just don't want chaos and anarchy.

@yashchandravanshi First of all, don't be fooled. The 18-month suspension is all in all the death of these reforms. Modi has already surrendered and the agitating farmers have actually won. Now, the goal is to further humiliate him. Second, the CAA, NRC, Triple Talaq, etc will have no bearing on this Govt. Nobody from the Govt went to pacify. Modi Govt can ignore them because they don't form BJP's vote bank. Even the protesting Sikhs are not BJP voters but the collective "farmer" umbrella is hurting Modi. Haryanvi Jats are not really against the reforms but against ML Khattar while UP Jats are angry over pending dues.

You are barking. Tikait has Modi by the tail. It is no more about reforms rather Jat pride. Haryana is already lost and UP (or at least Western UP hangs by a thin thread). Modi needs to address these reforms politically. He needs Rajnath Singh involved. Gujratis are lousy negotiators. Their typical business sense won't work here.

@progadkri5662 You seem like a sensible person who is rational and well informed that is why your voice will never be heard. Look at tv debates, you have donkeys passing on as "Experts" and commenting on these reforms. I have Punjabi friends. They are nice people. They tell me that the misinformation is way too much about these reforms. Punjab under Amrinder Singh was the first state in India to pass the Contract farming act. Back then he wanted to reform the farm sector now he has fallen out of line. Also, I don't blame the Punjabis, their Mandi system for whatever reasons works (at least they are convinced it is the best) then why should they bring about changes?
